This project uses crop modeling tool to develop in-season irrigation management decisions for a variety of crops, starting with corn, and extending for other crops as funding becomes available.  Another objective is to make improvements in model (CERES-Maize) to account for deficit irrigation and to assess potential recharge from irrigation. Several sources of existing research dataset from the Panhandle Research and Extension Center (PHREC) at ScottsBluff, West Central Research and Extension Center (WCREC) at North Platte, and South Central Agricultural Laboratory (SCAL) are compiled and used to calibrate and validate the crop model at different sites.
